Stocky retired

A Stocky alternative after the 2026 shutdown

Shopify retired Stocky on August 31, 2026. Inventory now lives in Shopify Admin and POS, but forecasting didn’t move with it. Here’s what changed, what to keep, and how to plan orders without it.

What happened to Stocky

  • February 2, 2026: Stocky was removed from the Shopify App Store, so it can’t be installed again.
  • August 31, 2026: General access ended and the Stocky APIs stopped working, along with integrations built on them.
  • September 1, 2026: Inventory management moved into Shopify Admin and Shopify POS.
  • After the shutdown: read-only access was reported for at least 90 days, and Shopify contacted a limited number of merchants about an extension to March 2027.

Export what you need now

Historical data doesn’t move into Shopify automatically. While you still have read-only access, export as CSV:

  • Purchase order reports
  • Inventory history
  • Historical cost data
  • Any other report you rely on

Supplier records can’t be exported, so note your suppliers, lead times and minimum orders separately.

What Shopify’s built-in tools don’t replace

Shopify Admin now handles stock levels, transfers and purchase orders. What’s missing is the planning: forecasting demand, deciding how much to reorder and in which sizes, and knowing which shop should get the stock.

Questions

When did Stocky shut down?

Shopify removed Stocky from the App Store on February 2, 2026 and ended general access on August 31, 2026, when its APIs stopped working.

Can I still get my Stocky data?

Shopify reported read-only access for at least 90 days after August 31, 2026. Export purchase orders, inventory history and cost data as CSV while you can; supplier records can’t be exported.

What replaces Stocky’s forecasting?

Shopify’s built-in tools cover stock, transfers and purchase orders, not forecasting. Sizo forecasts demand per variant and location and recommends what to order, read-only, with a free plan.
